I’ve talked to many men who claim that being a nice guy just doesn’t get things going with women. The guy with the little black book, who may or may not ring you, who acts as if he couldn’t care less whether you accept or reject his invitation, seems to be more attractive to the women.

It’s not that women want a man who will not treat them well. It’s just that women are magnetized towards men with a strong backbone. This type of man seems to hold true to his beliefs and values no matter how much other people may pressure him to change. The nice guy may always yield to the whims of a woman, but the reality is, most women see this as a symptom of weakness under pressure. Women may find this pleasing for some time, but will eventually find a man less challenging in the long term. They will lose a bit of respect for this nice guy type.

What does this mean for men? Simply that you just have to be a little more confident about yourself and not be a real jerk. Let the girls know you’re pleased with them, but don’t make them believe that your life takes the standstill when they’re not around.. Don’t be too altruistic - women like the challenge as well as the attention.

Offer to help her out with cleaning her space, or give her a compliment because you mean it, and not because she expects to hear one. Don’t be a lapdog when it comes to love and relationships. Do the unexpected rather than the traditional. You are being natural instead of being predictable. You really don’t have to be a jerk, just a confident nice guy who is true to himself.
