The HP 1200 Printer And Its Capabilities For Your Business
That the HP LaserJet 1200 printer is a capable model becomes readily apparent soon after putting it through its paces. This monochrome laser jet printer has been made by Hewlett-Packard to carry out a good amount of printing in the small office or home office environment. It features decent print speed and excellent end product with the HP LaserJet 1200 toner. It is also Mac-compatible. It can even scan documents, with the addition of certain optional equipment.
For what is really a personal laser printer that comes to it’s owner at a very nice price, the 1200’s print speed is more than acceptable at about 15 pages per minute. This isn’t the fastest print speed for laser printers in this price point, but neither is it the slowest. For someone with a limited budget, who is also concerned with good print quality as well as speed, this HP model may be the ideal candidate.
As far as print quality, Hewlett-Packard seems to be one of the best printer manufacturers at coming up with a good balance between print resolution and low cost. This particular model features 1,200 dots per inch of resolution, which isn’t normally seen in this price range, which is populated more by printers featuring 600 dots per inch rather than the higher-quality 1,200 standard.
As far as memory, HP included 8 MB of it that can be upgraded to 64 MB, if needed. For the small office or home office environment, this memory range should be quite enough to meet the needs of most users. Start out with 8 MB and see if any memory upgrade will be needed, however. All of it will be controlled by a standard 90 MHz processor, which is acceptable enough under most conditions.
The LaserJet 1200 is a fairly versatile printer in terms of how it can connect to a computer. Certainly, it’s a bit more versatile than many of its competitors at this price, coming as it does with parallel port and USB connectivity capability. Most printers at this price feature one or the other, but usually never both. Usually, one only gets parallel port for the price.
The HP 1200 is also particularly durable when it comes to monthly duty cycle. You can print out 10,000 pages in a month before requiring any sort of maintenance. HP, though, recommends duty cycles between 3,000 and 5,000 pages under certain conditions. However, the 10,000 page mark is still recognized upper end, so don’t have any hesitation going for it if needed.
This HP model can also handle a variety of different media stock, including transparencies, cards, labels and plain paper of many different sizes. It has an auto load paper tray capable of holding up to 250 sheets of paper and a custom manual load slot that can take up to 10 sheets of paper, if needed. This is a desktop model, so 250 sheets is excellent, quite frankly.
As far as price, the HP LaserJet 1200 printer will really impress. At present, it can be found for between $95 and $120 on a number of different websites. There are also handy printer drivers and owners manuals available at Hewlett-Packard’s own website. Considering that the 1200 delivers decent print speed, good durability and excellent print quality, there’s really nothing to complain about with this particular HP printer.
Dislike is never a word associated with HP LaserJet 1200 printer toner. Quality - yes, and reliability for sure, as any HP toners offers that consistently. Make sure you have an adequate supply for this terrific printer when you order printer toner online with a reputable vendor.
